A customer had a next-generation
product with a Class A surface, which included
sub-assembly at a long-distance facility, and had a
materials change from a metal-formed product to a
composite material (fiberglass)
that was not as rigid or strong. Therefore, this piece became more fragile and
critical to transport.
The solution:
MATCON designed a steel rack utilizing cross-link foam
and custom urethane that not only met their needs for
the Class A surface but also reduced material
handling.
